Opera in a Box
Opera in a Box will not be touring during the 2010-2011 season. We will be touring a full opera (condensed into approximately one hour) in the Spring. Please continue to check here for updates regarding this opportunity!
Opera in a Box is an immensely entertaining lesson in opera designed for students in grades K-6. With the help of a box filled with costumes and props, four opera singers and a pianist will perform some of opera’s “greatest hits”, while dispelling many typical stereotypes. From Rossini’s The Barber of Seville to Bizet’s Carmen, this outstanding live performance will give your students a fresh look at the art form. Opera is for everyone! We look forward to presenting Opera in a Box to your students.
“I had so many students tell me that they thought they hated opera, but after seeing your performance they think it is “awesome”! The teachers were so impressed as well. I can’t thank you enough not only for bringing your talent to our school, but somehow providing it at no cost. As you know with the current budget restrictions there is no possible way for us to pay for what you do…so I appreciate the opportunity for my students.”
